Dr. Cavaliere was formerly the Division Chief and fellowship director of Rheumatology at the Albany Medical College Department of Medicine. He is board certified in Rheumatology and practices out of our Albany location. Speaks English and Italian.

Born in San Francisco,  Dr. L. Frank Cavaliere, attended medical school at the University of Bologna in Italy.  He completed both his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Rheumatology at the New York Medical College Metropolitan Hospital Center.

Dr. Cavaliere has spent the majority of his medical career in academics and has amassed a multitude of awards and honors.  Prior to joining the Center for Rheumatology, he held the post of Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the New York Medical College and Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship Program, Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology.  He has held various professional appointments at NYMC since 1991.   He also holds the position of Attending Physician Westchester Medical Center.

He was listed in the 2nd  (1997), 3rd (1999), and 4th (2000) Editions of How to Find the Best Doctors: New York Metro Edition published by Castle, Connolly Medical Ltd, and Listed in the 5th (2001), 6th (2002), 7th (2003) and 8th (2004) Editions of Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area published by Castle, Connolly Medical Ltd. He received Certificates of Appreciation for Outstanding Contribution to the Third Year Medicine Clerkship. 1998-1999, 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002, and 2003-2004 from the New York Medical College Department of Medicine.

He is a Lifetime Member Strathmore’s Who’s Who, an Honorary Member of America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals, a Lifetime Member of Global Who’s Who.  He was listed listed in the 7th (2003-2004) Edition of Marquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and also listed in 2003 Edition Guide to America’s Top Physicians published by Consumers’ Research Council of America

In 2000, he was elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians. In 2004, he received Rheumatology Training Director Award from the New York Medical College Department of Medicine.
