Appointment Cancellations

The Center for Rheumatology position states that for all new patients that have a scheduled appointment, and do not call to cancel with 24 hours’ notice will be charged a no-show fee of $100. 00  The patient will not be rescheduled for another appointment until the $100.00 no-show fee has been paid.

If the patient is a no-show for a second time, the patient will not be scheduled for another follow up with any physicians at The Center for Rheumatology.

If patient calls within the 24 hours and cancels, The Center for Rheumatology will not charge the patient the no-show fee of $50, and the appointment can be rescheduled.

Follow up appointments will be subject to a $50 no-show fee as well, and a follow-up appointment will not be scheduled until the $50 no-show fee has been paid.  It is the discretion of the Physician on how many follow-ups can be missed, until that patient is discharged from the practice.

Late Arrivals

If you arrive 10 min late for your appointment, you will be seen at the physician’s discretion.

Appointment Schedules

Our staff and physicians work hard to ensure your appointment is on time. We understand your time is valuable too. Occasionally, delays cannot be avoided. Please be understanding as we attempt to give each patient the time and attention required to provide quality care.

Prescription Requests

If you have a prescription that needs to be refilled, please call your pharmacist. They have complete information about your prescription and are able to request refills electronically increasing speed and accuracy in refilling your medication.

Lab/X-Ray Results

We routinely contact patients only with abnormal results that need to be addressed prior to your next visit. If you have a portal account, you may access your lab results there.

Trainees

Our providers are committed to making our office a resource for education. In this regard, you may encounter medical fellows (Board Certified Physicians in internal medicine training), residents and/or pharmacy and medical students. You may decline their presence if you so wish, but we appreciate the opportunity you provide them by allowing them to participate in or observe your care.

E-mail

Because it is insecure and unreliable, e-mail should never be used to communicate with your provider. If you have access to the patient portal, your provider may choose to send you information through secure messaging available there.

Office Hours

Office hours are by appointment only and vary with each provider. We may be reached Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30 pm for appointment scheduling and questions.

Emergencies

Call 911 for life threatening emergencies. Do not call the office or leave a message on the portal.

On-Call Service

In case of an urgent non-life threatening medical issue, a physician is available after hours for our patients and may be reached at our main phone number 518-489-4471.
